Advantages of a LCD TV

LCD TV's (liquid crystal display) are on of the most popular types of HDTV's on the market today. LCD technology has been in use for several years. Many of us remember the days of CRT computer monitors but most people have moved on to LCD computer monitors. The technology used for computer monitors has evolved to high definition televisions and they are growing fast.

LCD HDTV's main competition is plasma television. Up until recently, plasma was shockingly more expensive tha LCD but with advances in technology, their prices are becoming more similar. So if pricing is pretty similar, then which TV is the better option? Each has its advantages and disadvantages. For now, we will be focusing on the advantages of LCD televisions.

Advantage 1: Screen Glare. Plasma TV's have a reflective, glass looking screen. LCD screens have more of a matte finish. Because of this, you don't have to worry as much about having too much light in your room. LCD TV's are a great option for theater rooms, kitchens, living rooms and just about anywhere else. You don't have to be stuffed in a cave to see the picture.

Advantage 2: Energy Use. LCD TV's use much less energy than plasma TV's. Running a plasma TV could cost you several hundred dollars more per year just to own. With the recent "green" movement, you will be helping the environment by avoiding plasma.

Advantage 3: Size. LCD is available in a very wide size range. You can get LCD screens anywhere from 5 inches to 65 inches or higher. Plasma screens are usually only available in the 40 inch or greater range.

Advantage 4: Price. Even though plasma's are getting cheaper, you will still save a few bucks by going with a LCD. Most people can't even tell the difference between LCD and plasma so save a few bucks and go LCD. With our current economy, who doesn't want to save money?

Advantage 5: Wall Mounting. You can wall mount most LCD or plasma HDTV's. Wall mounting is a great option for several reasons. First, it looks very styling and modern. Second, it frees up space in small or cluttered living rooms. Lastly, you can mount them with a swing arm so you can position the TV in any direction that you want.

These are some of the most common advantages listed for LCD TV's over other types of high definition TV's. Each has its pro's and con's but these advantages may persuade you to buy LCD.

Cool iPhone, Cool Mesh Case, Cool Business Model

Perhaps nothing else has taken the technology world by storm with as much vehemence as has Apple's iPhone. These days, everyone and their mother has a smartphone, a major portion of which have a little apple residing on the back. The iPhone has revolutionized the way that people play, do business, and communicate in one fell swoop. With Angry Birds as its unofficial mascot, the popularity of the iPhone app store has transfigured the software industry, making mobile apps the hottest thing since Steve Jobs put pretty type on the screen.

So what is it about Apple's iPhone and their other array of 'i' products - iTouch, iPad, iWhatevercomesnext - that has us all wanting to slide our fingers across a glassy surface? One thing that is seemingly inherent to Apple's products is a level of (how shall I put it?) wowness. I know that is not a real word so I am going to use the word iSnazzy instead. Apple things look cool. They exhibit a sort of sophisticated "I come from the future" look that immediately grabs the attention and gets the fingers itching. Surely there must be a teleportation button on something that looks so cool, you think, and are only mildly disappointed at the lack thereof because you are so busy killing zombies with plants.

And if the look of the phone itself was not enough, the ability to customize it to your personality fills in the remaining gaps. Out there in accessory land, smart people are selling clothing for smart phones. The line of apparel includes such things as the iPhone two-piece case, the iPhone mesh case, and even the iPhone kickstand. And what cool new gadget doesn't need a kick stand? Go on, name one. Knew you couldn't. The cases and accessories come in more colors and patterns that French wallpaper. Enough said.

But is this all that makes iPhone such a ubiquitous tool? Certainly not. The real power of the rectangular object, small enough to slip into a pocket or a purse, is in its ever expanding variety of functions. It's a phone, it's a game system, it's a camera, it's a book, it's a mobile office, it's a room full of CDs, it's a GPS, and it's a flashlight for heaven's sake. The fact is it's anything the programmers can make it. What is your iPhone? You'll find out tomorrow, because tomorrow you will change it. It changes as you do. You start exercising and it becomes your coach. You start dieting and it becomes your calorie counter. I think I've made my point.

Now, iPhones are not the only option out there in the world of smartphone technologies, and the future may see them relegated into the realm of Betamax and the Sinclair Spectrum, but I don't see it happening. Apple has ridden the crest of the technology wave and seen competitors' efforts mostly by glancing backward. It is because of their innovations that Apple has a large portion of the market share and will continue to maintain it without ever reducing their pricing. Apple doesn't discount its iProducts; it just makes new ones and charges the same. And there's no worms in that business model.

Action Photography Tips and Tricks

Getting great photographs of the world in motion is a difficult task. More than any other kind of photography, action photography demands lightning-quick reflexes, a solid foundation in composition and other photo elements, and a little bit of luck. However, anyone can learn to take great action photos if you're willing to invest the time and effort needed to understand the methods. Here are some techniques on how you can get started taking action photos.

Know Your Subject Matter

Because of the critical impact timing has on action photography, it is important that you understand what you are shooting. For example, with basketball, if you're not near the basket, you won't get a good picture of the next dunk. Take the time before your shoot to learn about how the activity you are documenting works so that you'll be able to anticipate what happens next and position yourself accordingly.

Get the Subject in Action

Try and capture your subject at the absolute peak moment of whatever that activity is. If you're taking shots of snowboarders jumping off a ramp, do you want the landing, the launch, or the highest point of the jump? Action photography is very striking when you are able to grab the most interesting part of the action, so make sure you're thinking about that before you shoot.

Focus in Advance

Many professional photographers will focus their cameras on an empty space where they expect something to happen. This is an easy thing to do if you know the activity you're shooting, and will save you valuable time when someone is flying through the air in your frame and you have milliseconds to react.

Pan with the Subject

It is important in action photography that you convey motion in the final print. While some subjects will have obvious motion, such as a basketball player frozen mid-dunk, others may require a bit of work on your part. Panning is moving the camera with your subject as they pass by. This will give you the end result of the subject being clearly in focus but the background being blurred by the motion of the camera.

Having the Right Film and Using a Flash

For action photography, a high speed film of 800 or above is usually best. High speed film will let you use faster shutter speeds in more varied light situations and help you to freeze actions perfectly. A flash can also be quite helpful in capturing those ultra-fast moments, though it is worth noting that the great majority of consumer level camera flashes won't have much use beyond 10 feet.

Continue the Action

If possible, try to avoid stopping the action of a subject in your picture. While freezing an action in progress is a good goal for an action shot, allow the viewer room to follow the action to a possible conclusion. For example if you have someone jumping down some stairs, position the subject near the top of the picture and have some stairs below so it's easier to understood the outcome of the action.

Shoot Digital

Action photography does take a lot of practice and patience and also used to take an enormous amount of film. Thanks to digital technology, now you can practice shooting without going through a lot of film and spending a lot of money refining your skill. And even better, many digital SLRs have continuous shooting modes that allow you to shoot 10-50 images in rapid succession so you can have more opportunities for the perfect shot.

The most important things in action photography are having fun and staying safe. You never want to get in a position where you could put yourself or someone else in harms way so try to only shoot in areas where photographers are expected and allowed. Beyond that, the more you shoot, the better you'll get!

Plasma TV Wall Mount - Get A Theater Quality Experience In Your Living Room

A plasma TV wall mount is used to hang a plasma TV on a wall for a more enjoyable viewing experience. A plasma television mount comes in a kit that requires assembly and installation.

If you have never shopped for this type of mount before, you may not be aware of the fact that there are three different varieties. The first type is called a low profile mount, which does not allow you to tilt or pivot. This type is called a tilting mount, which allows you to tilt the television from side to side.

The next variety of mount allows you to pivot or tilt the television, which allows you to adjust it from side to side or up to down. This is the more expensive option, but it is a prime selection for families with children, or simply if you like to watch television from anywhere in the room. These are also more difficult to install.

Installing plasma TV wall mount usually takes around an hour or so and requires at least two people to accomplish. Securing the plasma TV wall mount is one of the most important steps in the process. Making sure that there is a wall stud where the TV mount is to be mounted is extremely important.

Plasma televisions are very heavy and the screens are glass so it is important that the TV mount is secured right into a wall stud. After locating the site where the mount will be installed than with the use of a stud finder the installation can begin. The second person is present to help lift the TV onto it. Installation of it can be contracted to an installer if time or ability is a concern.

Most electronic stores sell these products, as do some department stores have the electronics section. You can also find them in some discount stores, or even online. The maximum weight as well as the brand will have a huge factor in the price of amount, so comparison-shopping is in your best interest. Keep this in mind we finally start looking for your plasma TV wall mount.

Safe Solutions to Driving While Talking on the Phone

Driving while talking on the phone can be very dangerous, especially when using a handset phone. It can be difficult to focus on holding a phone and keeping your eyes on the road at the same time. A number of states have passed laws requiring that any motorists who are using phones either pull over or use a hands-free device. There are a number of ways to stay safe while driving and using the phone, letting you stay in touch when necessary without putting your safety, or the safety of your fellow drivers, in jeopardy.

Convenient Cell Phone Mounting

One of the easiest ways to stay safe while driving is to use a phone mount. These simple little devices hold your phone in a convenient location to keep your hands free. There are several different mounting options. You can mount the phone on your dashboard, in a cup holder, or even on the console (when using a device that's supported by the vent of your car or truck's heating and cooling system).

Many of these mounts are designed to provide additional storage space for small items while still keeping your phone secured in a convenient location. All of these mounts allow your phone to be easily removed once you reach your destination, and can be removed themselves in mere seconds.

Hands-Free Phone Operation

Once a cellular phone has been mounted in a vehicle, one of the easiest ways to ensure hands-free operation is by use of an earpiece or other personal speaker unit. Many modern phones feature Bluetooth connectivity so that any Bluetooth headset can be used.

But even phones without Bluetooth have headphone jacks so that a simple earpiece can be connected to them. Some earpieces and headsets even feature independent volume control to allow you to adjust the speaker volume without having to reach for the phone. And most hands free devices allow you to answer the phone with the quick touch a button, so you don't have to take your eyes off the road.

Speakerphone Solutions

Some drivers choose not to use earpieces or headsets because they prevent them from being able to fully hear everything that is going on around them. Most cellular phones are equipped with a speakerphone option, though this isn't always ideal as the speaker can sometimes sound muffled or be difficult to hear.

Third-party speaker systems are a great solution, as are speakerphone products such as the Jupiter Jack. These devices plug into the headset port on the cellular phone, then broadcast the sound on a short-range frequency that can be picked up by your car or truck's FM radio. This allows you to hear the person on the other end of the phone clearly while letting you focus your full attention on the sights and sounds that surround you.

Automotive Phone Chargers

The beeping that cellular phones emit when their batteries are dying is designed to get your attention, but when you are trying to concentrate on driving, that incessant beep can be distracting to a dangerous degree.

Automotive phone chargers are easy to find and ensure that your phone isn't going to die while you're travelling. The chargers plug conveniently into your car's cigarette lighter or power point, and can be an easy way to keep your phone fully charged on long commutes or road trips.

Should you not have your automotive charger with you, flash chargers and temporary batteries are available as well. You simply plug a flash charger into your phone's battery cord port and it will transfer up to 30 minutes of power or more to your phone. Or, you can use a temporary battery for up to an hour of additional power. These are both simple ways to make using your phone on the road safer.

Voice Dialing

Most phones have a voice dialing feature that can be used in conjunction with several third-party components to make the phone completely hands-free. Phones with voice dialing generally have a "training" mode that can be used from time to time to ensure that it can recognize all of the commands and names that you have programmed into it. Voice-dialing allows you to make calls from a mounted phone without having to touch the phone at all. Combining voice-dialing with a speakerphone system allows you to have full conversations without having to touch a single button.

Talking on the phone is an absolute necessity for many drivers, especially busy professionals on the go. But with a few easy-to-use products, you can rest assured that your phone conversations won't put your safety and the safety of your fellow travelers at risk.

The user will want to ensure that it can be worn comfortably on the wrist, and can be used without stopping. Although none of the watches will be too bulky it needs to be comfortable to wear, and not restrict any movement. Some of the designs are bulkier making them harder to wear, and train with.

Ease of use and the screen size are very important elements when considering what heart watch to purchase. The runner will want to look down at a glance, and see the results, enabling them to push harder, or faster, and be more motivated. The user will also be able to slow down, or stop before any injury occurs.

Depending on the overall use of the heart watch will often determine the type of features that are needed. However, more serious runners will benefit from having the most features, and specifications.

There are two main components of the heart watch, and these include the watch, and a strap that goes around the runner's chest. This needs to fit incredibly well to ensure that the signal is kept at all times, and the heart rate is being monitored correctly. Once the strap is in place the runner needs to ensure that it remains tight at all times.
